TRAINING ON TAILORING – INCREDIBLE SUCCESS, IET
Arunachal Pradesh – IET, The need of the people in Arunachal Pradesh was rightly felt
and hence a tailoring institute was launched by the Community Empowerment Department. Formerly there had no native tailors been available in the area.
In the beginning when it was started off its operation there was no hope at all; the condition was very precarious to run the institute because it was least bothered by the aboriginal women in the area. Despite, now people put their hope on the tailoring programme.
With just 7 students the first batch was commenced in faith. Loads of ongoing awareness and motivation keep on changing the mindset of the people and caused many throng to the centre to get their names registered. Plenty are there in waiting list.
Mrs. Linter is one of our students whose life has been completely transformed through this programme. She successfully completed her training and opened a tailoring shop and now she is able to look after her family. She thanks God and the Army whereas few others got their job in Government sectors.
The centre has received the recognition of Arunachal Pradesh Government. Many people appreciate the Salvation Army’s operations in Arunachal Pradesh. It has added further strength to the gospel work. I thank Territorial Commander and the Community Empowerment Project department.
